PRESENTATION
AMBULANCE II
SAWANG BORIBOON
RESCUE FOUNDATION
|
The Sawang
Boriboon Foundation South Pattaya
Branch is the proud owner of a
spanking new, completely outfitted
Emergency Medical Services
ambulance. This 1.4 million baht
ambulance has been a totally charity
funded project from the local people
in Pattaya, but particularly from
the biker sections of the community.
The official hand-over was carried
out at the Pinnacle Resort in Na
Jomtien, whose GM, the energetic
Ingo Rauber, had arranged space
around one of the resort’s swimming
pools. Overseeing the act of
community generosity was Pol. Capt
Ittipol Ittisarnronnachai, chief of
Pattaya Immigration, and Pol. Col.
Nopadol Wongnom, superintendent of
Pattaya Police Station.
Michael Strevens, a paramedic from
the Sawang Boriboon Foundation South
Pattaya and MC of the short
ceremony, thanked everyone who had
been involved in raising the
necessary funds, be their donations
large or small, but special mention
had to be made of the Biker Daze
group of motorcycle clubs which had
raised around 400,000 baht with
charity functions and also Steve
Graham, the MD of ESC (and an
ex-biker) who had backed the
foundation to be able to get them
into the ambulance, even though they
were many hundreds of thousands of
baht short of the purchase and
outfitting price.

Chief of Pattaya
Immigration, Steve
Graham (4th right), MD
of ESC, and the Biker
Daze group officially
hand over a brand new
ambulance to the Sawang
Boriboon Foundation. |
The leader of
Biker Daze, Erick spoke only a few
words, acknowledging the need for
Pattaya to have ambulances and
emergency services of this caliber,
but expressed the hope that none of
the Biker Daze riders would ever
need to use it!
Undoubtedly this was an example of
how the Pattaya community can get
behind community projects, and in
addition, just how much the ex-pat
sector is truly part of the larger
community.
